LOVEBOX X BOXFRESH

Original sketch by Ventza

Crazy stacks of paint on the scissor lift with Zadok

Christina (Monorex) was a big hand

CMYKicks

The last couple days have been damn busy in the blazing sun. Monorex pt a team together for Lovebox to paint the Boxfresh stage at this weekends festival in Victoria park. Working from a sketch devised by VENTSA we had 3 stacks of shipping containers to paint up a large speaker stack system. I have to admit, if I had devised these sketch I would not have considered so many styles of speaker boxes!!! It was brilliant. Out of the team it was myself, Tony Riff, VENTSA (a pleasure to work with again), a great pleasure to finally work with ZADOK, an artist I've admired for a few years), alongside a couple more.

It was 3 days up and down scissor lifts, and scaffolding, hard hats and hi-vis jackets. It was great to work on such a scale yet very challenging, especially trying to produce so many circles as close to perfect as possible. The colour palette was brilliant, and am vey happy with the way styles mixed in and out of each other so well.

It was great to get early access to the site to see the whole production and construction team in progress, a really good insight into what goes on before a festival.

Jeba X Cobra Gym

This weekend I was over at Cobra Gym in Victoria, painting one bloody complicated logo!! I loved it, definitely up there as the one of hardest and challenging things I've painted in a long time, down to the shear detail and composition.

The next two weeks are jam packed, today starts off at the Lovebox setup (whoop!), which will be three days. Next week will be a very exciting opportunity with a pop up exhibition in West London. Exciting times, there will be more updates very shortly.

In the meantime please take the time to vote on my Threadless submission. Any support would be very appreciated.

Icy.. Bathtub Steam.. kinda thing.. In the heat!

Gnaly from I-Likeitalot

We have had CRAZY weather in London for the past couple weeks! I would like to say congratulations to all my fellow Londoners who have been burning up and enjoying the weather. Victoria Park has been the communal stomping ground for everyone!
Anyhow, I haven't been doing much personal painting which is really bad so last week I had to go and knock out some letters and icy fillls. You have to keep the fingers working, it's like going to the gym. I even got Gnaly from I-Likeitalot working out!

Also I would like to point out that there is still a few more days to vote for my Threadless Tshirt entry. Any support would be much appreciated. Please tell your friends, and other other friends. I would really love to for this to get printed.

JEBA X MATALAN

Last week I was approached by Katey Offley to help on set for Matalan's Autumn/ Winter shoot. They required a flat as a background requesting an old school/ train style lettering with specific colours within the palette.

When first receiving the request I was instantly excited for the day. Usually I'm hired for a commission based off of the style that is exemplified in my previous work, which is good, that's what you like as an artist. So being asked to strip down what I generally do and go back to the basics with some lettering, and old school fills, I found it quite refreshing.
Also quit enjoyed painting the character, my personal challenge was to knock out a good variation of line without spending too much time. It's always nice to challenge yourself whilst maintaining quality.

Also quite funny to have this guy turn up! Much respect to Marvin Humes for getting in the spirit!
