Catch the Carp

Here's a collaborative piece between myself DYOX JUAN2 PIWA and TONY RIFF.

It's unfortunately quite rare that I get to team up with so many artists and get a collaboration done, but it's starting to happen more frequently thankfully. The day after StreetFest I slugged my way out to meet these guys for a paint. Being a long term fan of DYOX work, I really wanted to take the opportunity to get something done with him. It was my first time meeting JUAN2 and also PIWA, who's work I had seen before but managed to hold down my excitement! You still turn into a little fan boy over these things, it's ridiculous!!

DYOX pretty much came up with the concept, which worked very well. JUAN was pulling out letters I rarely see these days. PIWA's female form's are actually amazing, the rhythm she captures within the figures and the balance in the face is so well considering the scale. I had to sit and watch her do the lips, it was brilliant. Then to finally see DYOX work was mind-blowing, the way he layers colour and blends in and out, reworking layers, is something that I can only akin to photoshop painting, which I respect so much. You think it looks great and almost finished at one point, and then he just keeps on adding and adding. As for RIFF… well you can see all my posts about this dude! Always amazing!

A great day and a pleasure to work with all these guys.

The JEBA X RIFF Show!!

A week before Streetfest, myself an Tony Riff decided to hit a wall, it was mainly a warm up for him before he painted on the day. So we just took the time to knock up a couple of characters really. Welcome to the show!

Captina Kris' Birthday Paint and Booze Jam

This weekend saw an epic turnout for Captain Kris' Birthday jam. Around 22 artists got together and with the help of Global Street Art, took out walls in East London. The largest collab being in Sclater Street Carpark.
Joining us on the day was were the likes of:
Captain Kris
SpZero
Squirl
Tony Riff
Candy Lo
Lilly
Irony
313
Seeds
Himbad
…and there's just a whole bunch to try and mention!!

It was a great day and I decided to let this little character return. We were welcomed with great weather at first, and then it decided to piss down on us a couple times throughout the day!!

Never the less it was a pleasure to paint with alongside with all these guys, and being the weekend after Streetfest, great to catch up.
You can check out a great article by UrbaNNerding covering the day.

JEBA X Made In Brazil (Cont.)

So you probably saw the previous post regarding the work I did on the front of Made In Brazil, a bar and restaurant in Camden. I was then asked to create a concept for the back wall. Loosely they were interested with a scene with a parrot, as well as sticking to the colours of the brazilian flag. From there I developed this with the vision of creating a scene inspired by a brazilian jungle.
I've always found painting with flora quite fun and interesting regarding the forms and rhythm you can create. Do check out the Host art work I did last year.

Made In Brazil

Now StreetFest is over I can get down to keeping you guys updated! By the way StreetFest was an amazing event, a great experience to get involved with managing and curation, but I will get to that in another post.

I was invited down to Made In Brazil in Camden to paint their exterior surfaces. The first being the front. A 2 story building and the concept was to recreate the Brazilian flag in splashes of paint!
It was a crazy experience with the sun beating down!

This was the view from my office!
