JEBA X ZINA X Ripped Gym

At the beginning of the year I teamed up with Zina to paint this wall for the new Ripped Gym that opened in Basildon.
The concept we delivered for the super gym was based on a Mount Olympus theme. A request front he gym was that we include Arnold Schwarzenneger, one of the most legendary Olympians (Olympic body building winner), Mike Tyson, and the deceased owner of the chain Elvis. Elvis unfortunately died earlier this year and what we wanted to achieve was a tribute to someone who put so much energy into something he believed in. I strongly believe that if a person works so hard at something they believe in a respect should be paid to them, so it was an honour to paint this wall.
Easily now the largest wall I painted it was quite an intense project, trying to get everything spot on. But fun was still had, loads of fat cap flares!
As usual Zina blew me away with her skills at photorealism and she pushed herself to meet the scale.

Back from ISTANBUL!!!

I know its been a while but it's been a bloody good and busy period! Work will follow but here's another annual special, I just got back from Istanbul!

I've never been to anywhere this side of Euerope before and bloody hell I have to say its damn worth it. I didn't get to paint this time round as the city is massive and it took me a while to find info on a store to get paint. But I definitely say there are so many spots and there is a great painting scene out there.

5 days, £500, and you will live like a king! Living costs are a third of the price in the UK, food is unbelievable, travel is cheap with so many different modes of transport and I definitely advise utilising it to get the most out of the city. Being an insanely hilly place your legs are going to get a work out.

I was staying in a popular area called Taksim which I guess you could compare to West End in London. This is situated on the European side of Istanbul (there is an Asian side too which is separated by the sea), which is quite modern. Everyone knows about the Grand Bazaar, the big trading/ bartering district which is located in Sultanahmet, again more water separating but just a train ride away. Great architecture displayed by mosques, its quite unique. It's like being in Assassins Creed!

Stray cats and dogs are everywhere and the most beautiful thing, is that locals take care of them, they feed, tend to wounds, pamper. It was really refreshing to see humans taking care of what we see as pests over here.

The graff out there was quite inspiring too. Was real good to see the number of dubs and shutters been done.
