Last week I was approached by Katey Offley to help on set for Matalan's Autumn/ Winter shoot. They required a flat as a background requesting an old school/ train style lettering with specific colours within the palette.
When first receiving the request I was instantly excited for the day. Usually I'm hired for a commission based off of the style that is exemplified in my previous work, which is good, that's what you like as an artist. So being asked to strip down what I generally do and go back to the basics with some lettering, and old school fills, I found it quite refreshing.
Also quit enjoyed painting the character, my personal challenge was to knock out a good variation of line without spending too much time. It's always nice to challenge yourself whilst maintaining quality.
Also quite funny to have this guy turn up! Much respect to Marvin Humes for getting in the spirit!
