JEBA X MATALAN

Last week I was approached by Katey Offley to help on set for Matalan's Autumn/ Winter shoot. They required a flat as a background requesting an old school/ train style lettering with specific colours within the palette.

When first receiving the request I was instantly excited for the day. Usually I'm hired for a commission based off of the style that is exemplified in my previous work, which is good, that's what you like as an artist. So being asked to strip down what I generally do and go back to the basics with some lettering, and old school fills, I found it quite refreshing.
Also quit enjoyed painting the character, my personal challenge was to knock out a good variation of line without spending too much time. It's always nice to challenge yourself whilst maintaining quality.

Also quite funny to have this guy turn up! Much respect to Marvin Humes for getting in the spirit!

The Golden Bee with Mr. P

I was quite happy when I got the call to help out on this. I've known Mr. P for a long time however never had the pleasure of painting with him. He asked me to come and help him with this wall art The Golden Bee in East London. A very fun and bizarre job! Also this was after the job at Muscleworks so it was day 3 and 4 of a 4 day painting binge [WHOOOOOP]! 2 Days u and down a scissor lift... Yes Sir!

More projects for this week and some planning for next month. I'm liking this work flow.

Muscle Works Gym

It has definitely been busy, with new walls and projects popping up. Very happy to say this. The weather in London hasn't been too bad either so so far I'm enjoying the season. A lot of time spent in the studio coming up with concepts for projects, which means not much for my personal means, but I can't complain about that now can I!

A couple of weeks ago I was asked to paint a couple pieces down at Muscleworks Gym in East London. I'm not going to retend like I'm a gym goer... but the bar itself was an exercise... without the weights!!
These to boxers sparring was my contribution to the top floor, quite a nice chance to experiment with balancing lines with shadows on a large scale.

I haven't used them for a while as I prefer them on canvas, but we were using Montana Gold. As usual I find them weird when trying to get some nice crisp lines. But was good to warm my hand into it again. Definitely have been craving to paint a big canvas since.
