Happy Birthday Tony Riff

Last week was Tony Riff's birthday, so we went out and did what we know best, draw some characters.! we both decided to pull out some sketches we had residing in our black books and after seeing him throw down his lines, I definitely wished I contemplated choosing a slightly more comic style filling with the character, I said I'd be working with this character a bit more this year.
I never get to paint with this dude enough, but am really hoping to get more done this year. A friend that has supported me every day since the jump.

Much respect to Tony riff.
By the way if you are interested in any of his art work he has a couple more canvas' for sale, some dynamite illustrations. Check him out on his regularly updated blog and Facebook

Blackmoon Enta Da Stage re edit

At some point last year I set a project for myself; to recreate album artwork of hiphop albums that stand out to me for one reason or the other.

Blackmoon's Enta da Stage is listed in my top 5 hiphop albums. It speak about the era, the productions by Evil Dee are amazing and the lyrical strength of Buckshot and 5ft was grandeur. Their follow up, Diggin' in da Vaults which was packed with wpic remixes is definitely one to listen too as wel, some of the remixes I prefer over the originals. Evil Dee is a genius in general!

Drawn in inks I used 2 pens, a classic italic calligraphy pen and one that I made myself out of a wooden chopstick!

The colours have been started but a few tweaks to complete so will definitely post up at some point once I get these freelance projects out of the way.

JEBA X Streetfest X Becks Vier

This year at Streetfest was EPIC! There was so much action going on. First off the skating was crazy! There were rollerbladers launching off the pipe over the shop stands!! Insane! People were dropping in from the rafters, literally!

This year I had the opportunity to collaborate with Becks, one of the sponsors in creating a piece. My last two pieces at streetfest didn't include much of a landscape so I wanted to take the opportunity to touch on this more and test myself with some perspective.

After 6 hours of throwing paint about I was shattered but I was definitely happy with the results. Thanks to all of the passers by who were showing support, giving my hugs, hi 5's, drinks, and laughs! A lot turned up!

Special thanks to Streetfest, Becks and The Distinct Group.

May Type Experimentation

So last week as I was getting prepped for Streetfest, and with a lot of hectic business within the Streetfest Studio, I managed to get some type experimentation down. Using Calligraphy pens and and ink brush, some nice script and freestyled type was achieved.
