Them Kush Clouds

I've been meaning to post these updates to the current project for a while. I've been deep in HTML trying to pull together the website.
A lot of work to go still, clean ups, colour adjustments, subtle changes, but these are the prints so far, minus two that I am currently working on.
I have displayed them in the order I started development and [I hope] you can see the slight changes in approach. you see these originally started off as colour concepts so I could paint them, but being the geek I am I was concentrating on details far too much. So I figured I may as wel release these as prints. Still a lot to do and quite a bit of time.. but you can't take tim for granted.

Grey Velvet

This commision I did for someone in the later part of summer was the starting point/ influence for me to carry on the line of prints that I'm currently working on [see previous post].
It's also an example of why I need a better camera other than my iPhone!

New prints of haze

For the last month or so I've been working on a batch of prints for an upcoming exhibition. We all know smoking is bad for your health, very harmful. There is also a cool stigma too the habit, with great photography work exemplifying the poses, mood and attitude of the subject.
Using references I have concentrated on sketching woman, adorning each with tribal markings and jewelry akin to different cultures. It's no secret that I like drawing women!

But two things I have never felt completely satisfied with my approach too,  is drawing good smoke and creating good texture in my images. So a main concentration in this project are attacking those two things to subjects. This started with a painting I did in the summer, and another illustration of some complex smoke clouds, which I will post up soon. More updates on the way.
